Aim and Scope

Journal of Early Childhood Motoric Development (JECMD) (e-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by PT. Smart Motion Technology and Education. JECMD focuses on the scientific study of motor development and movement experiences in early childhood, with particular attention to the development, learning, assessment, and promotion of children's motor skills and movement competence.

The journal welcomes original empirical research and systematic reviews within the following areas:

1. Fundamental Movement Skills and Motor Development

Research examining the development of motor abilities and fundamental movement skills in early childhood, including:

  • Locomotor skills;

  • Object-control and manipulative skills;

  • Stability and balance skills;

  • Fine and gross motor development;

  • Motor coordination;

  • Motor competence; and

  • Factors influencing children's motor development.

2. Motor Learning and Movement Education

Research addressing the learning and acquisition of movement skills in children, including:

  • Motor learning and skill acquisition;

  • Movement-based learning;

  • Teaching strategies for developing motor skills;

  • Feedback and practice in motor learning;

  • Play-based movement activities;

  • Physical education in early childhood; and

  • Technology and innovative approaches to children's movement learning.

3. Physical Activity and Motor Development

Research investigating the relationship between physical activity and children's motor development, including:

  • Physical activity participation;

  • Active play;

  • Movement behavior;

  • Physical fitness and motor competence;

  • Sedentary behavior in relation to motor development; and

  • Interventions promoting active lifestyles and motor development.

4. Assessment of Motor Development

Research related to the measurement and evaluation of children's motor development and movement competence, including:

  • Assessment of fundamental movement skills;

  • Motor development screening;

  • Development and validation of motor assessment instruments;

  • Movement and motor competence evaluation; and

  • Technology-assisted motor assessment.

5. Interventions for Motor Development

Research examining programs and interventions designed to improve or support children's motor development, including:

  • Motor skill interventions;

  • Movement and play programs;

  • School- and community-based interventions;

  • Inclusive and adapted movement programs;

  • Physical activity interventions; and

  • Programs supporting children with different levels of motor competence.

JECMD primarily publishes original empirical research articles and systematic reviews that make a clear contribution to understanding and promoting motor development in early childhood.

The journal is published twice a year, in May and November, and accepts manuscripts written in Indonesian and/or English.
